Thank you very much for many things I have discovered about the Hayssen family from your website. Martha Hayssen appears to have been my great-grandmother. Her husband Rudolf Wegener owned one of the last breweries in Minnesota, closing just after the turn of the 19th century following his death. Their son John married Ruth Palmer (my grandmother) who had my mother Jean Marie who met my father David Schultz in Beritz, Switzerland during WWII. Both my parents died between 2000 and 2002, leaving me (b. 1954, teacher, Eugene OR) and my sister Laura (b. 1951, translator, Paris, France). My sister and I each have a son and daughter, hers in Seattle WA and mine in Eugene. I have three original beer tasting glasses from the brewery in Alexandria MN from the 1880s/90s, I expect. There was some written research done by my uncle Edward Wegener (grandson of Martha Hayssen)about Alexandria around 1900.
